Biography

Area of expertise: Habitat Ecology Faculty/Department: Natural and Agricultural Sciences, In the Department of Animal, Wildlife and Grassland Sciences. I consider myself as a wildlife habitat expert, among other things, but my research is focused on giraffe and rhino in their natural habitat using GIS and spatial ecology tools to investigate that. For this we need team efforts with long lasting and sustainable solutions. I have a saying: “If we can save the habitat wildlife need, then the animals will be just fine”. I have many projects with collaborations from institutions worldwide, but my primary projects would be to understand the ecological and biological factors that regulate giraffe and rhino in their natural habitat. For this have a multispecialist research team of nearly 20 scientists from 10 different countries, helping to address the research questions and objectives and are open for any conservation efforts to save the last remaining habitat for wildlife such as giraffe and rhino.
